Cộng đồng người Việt hải ngoại nay đã được khoảng 43 tuổi từ ngày có cuộc đại di tản từ Việt Nam từ ngày 30 tháng 4 năm 1975, muốn tiếp tục gìn giữ và phá triển di sản truyền thống của mình, trong đó phải kể đến nghi thức thờ cúng tô tiên là trên hết. Phật Giáo Hòa Hảo mà chúng tôi tạm dịch là Harmony Buddhism là một phần của di sản đó tổng hợp ba nên tôn giáo lớn là Phật Khổng Lão. Đức Thầy đã dùng tiếng Việt gồm cả chữ Nôm, và một ít chữ Hán Việt, phần lớn các bài giảng bằng văn vần. Ngoài ra, ngài cũng dùng thể cách bình dân để chuyển tải nội dung phong phú sâu xa của ba tôn giáo trên cho quần chúng, đa số là những người nông dân ít có dịp đi học, một cách dễ hiểu và nội dung thực tế để thích nghi với đời sống của mình. Nhờ vào nỗ lực phát huy tinh thần từ bi, bác ái, và tín hòa hợp cao đô với cuộc sống thực tế của người dân mà nền tôn giáo này chẳng những tồn tại và phát triển trong thời chiến tranh mà cả trong thời hậu chiến nữa. Số tín đồ ngày nay không thể biết được chính xác bằng số liệu, nhưng tất cả người Việt nào có cơ hội tiếp cận giáo lý và sự thể hiện giáo lý đó bằng quá trình hành động nhập thế của vị Giáo Chủ thì không khỏi xem Ngài là bật siêu phàm, nếu không nói là vị Bồ Tát tái sanh.</span></p><p class="textnormal"><span class="textnormal"> </span></p></div></div></div></div><div class="Preview_row__3Fkye row"><div class="Preview_componentWrapper__2i4QI" data-id="59720CA5-2665-48BD-80B0-582F641177FD" data-kind="TEXT"><div class="Preview_component__SbiKo text-align-null" data-in-template="false" data-id="59720CA5-2665-48BD-80B0-582F641177FD" data-kind="Component" data-specific-kind="TEXT"><div class="styles_contentContainer__lrPIa textnormal styles_text__3jGMu styles_invalidateHighlightAndShadows__2W3IH Main themeTextClass" data-mve-font-change="0"><p class="textnormal"><span class="textnormal">Thế nên độc giả có thể cảm nhận được nền luân lý dân gian của Việt nam môt cách dễ dàng nhờ tính chất bình dân và mộc mạc của các bài Sá́m Thi cũng không thiếu chiều sâu và vần điệu nhịp nhàng như ca dao, tục ngữ. Mỗi câu thi hay văn vần của ngài đều chứa đựng bài học luân lý sâu xa. Do đó, việc dịch thuật ra tiếng Anh bằng văn vần là ̣điều phải nói vượt ra ngoài tầm với của chúng tôi nếu người đọc xem đây là cách làm thơ thông thường của các thi sĩ tiếng Anh. </span></p><p class="textnormal"><span class="textnormal"> </span></p><p class="textnormal"><span class="textnormal">Chúng tôi chỉ dịch thế nào vừa chính xác vừa có chất thơ để cho câu thơ dịch ra tiếng Anh ít nhất cũng gây chút cảm hứng cho người đọc. Vì tính cách tự do và sáng tạo trong công tác nây hơn chỉ là dịch suông, nên bổn bút rất mong quí bạn đọc thông cảm nếu có chỗ dịch nào quí ví cho rằng không phản ảnh hoàn toàn nội dung của bản tiếng Việt. Xin quí vị mỗi khi thấy điều trên mà có ý đóng góp ý kiến, chúng tôi rất hoan nghênh. The Vietnamese diaspora communities are now 43 years old since their exodus isince the 30th of April 1975 , and they wanted to preserve their cultural heritage in which ancestral worships are regarded above all. Phật Giáo Hòa Hảo which we temporarily into Harmony Buddhism is a n integral part of three major religions, Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.
