Đã 84 năm từ ngày khai sáng Đạo Phật Giáo Hòa Hảo, Đức Huỳnh Giáo Chủ thực hiện nhiều cải cách đối với Tam Giáo Phật, Khổng, Lão. Trong một đất nước mất chủ quyền, nhân tài tiêu tán, xã hội bất công, luân lý suy đồi, dị đoan mê tín, kinh tế bị ngoại nhân kiểm soát, hàng hoá bị bố thiết. Thế mà trong thời gian tám năm ngắn ngủi, mặc dù bị ngăn trở đủ điều bởi mật vụ thực dân và Đệ Tam QuốcTế, có khoảng hai triệu tín đồ đã quy y theo Phật Giáo Hoà Hảo và Đức Thầy đã tạo nên phong trào quần chúng mạnh mẽ để tranh đấu cho độc lập nước nhà, một xã hội công bằng dân chủ, lành mạnh về mọi mặt.
Bất hạnh thay, vào năm 1947, ngài phải lựa chọn giải pháp vắng mặt lâu dài, để tránh tình trạng đồng bào chém giết nhau chỉ có lợi cho thực dân. Dù sau, sự việc xảy ra như thể đã được vị Cứu Đời đã chuẩn bị trước, vì ngài đã âm thầm thố lộ trong các sấm thi. Ngài đã để lại cho tín đồ một kho tàng kinh điển quý báu, gồm Bộ Sám Giảng Thi Văn Giáo Lý, là kim chỉ nam cho họ, ứng xử trong mọi tình huống. Tuy vắng mặt, ảnh hưởng của Ngài vẫn tiếng tục ngày càng lớn mạnh.
Trong hy vọng được đóng góp phần nào vào việc thực hiện ước mơ của Đức Thầy qua câu “Mảng chờ trông bá thánh thảnh thơi, Khắp bốn biển liên dây hoà hảo”, chúng tôi đã cố gắng huy động tất cả hiểu biết và kinh nghiệm chuyên môn để dịch một phần hay toàn Bộ Sám Giảng Thi Văn Giáo Lý của Đức Thầy, như đã được xuất bản trên harmonybuddhism.org.
Vì tầm quan trọng của Bài Sứ Mạng, Quyển Sáu trong Bộ SGTVGL, chúng tôi cho ấn hành để dễ dàng phân phát cho một số độc giả chưa quen sử dụng internet.
Mặc dù cố gắng hết sức, chúng tôi cũng không bao giờ dám cho rằng bản dịch đã hoàn hảo. Thế nên, chúng tôi luôn mong mõi nhận được ý kiến đóng góp từ độc giả bốn phương, cũng không quên cầu ơn trên Thầy Tổ gia hộ để có thêm trí huệ trong công việc phổ truyền nhiều thử thách này.
Sau hết, chúng tôi xin ghi nhận công đức của các đồng đạo, đồng nghiệp, thân hữu, mạnh thường quân, đã góp phần vào dự án.

PRELUDE
Eighty four years on since launching His mission, Master Huynh Phu So has realized many significant reforms on Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism. Within these eight years, the country which lost its sovereignty, the talented people were in disarray, the society was full of injustices, moral decadence, foreigners controlling its economy, superstitions, etc, despite the harassment and obstruction by colonial power and Comintern, Master’s following amounted up to two millions, He succeeded in establishing a wide range of movements or campaigns for national independence, social democracy for Vietnam, while He did not cease to promote agricultural production.
Unfortunately, in 1947, He had to adopt a prolonged absence to stop internecine onslaughts in favor of the colonialism. After all, such a departure seems to have been prepared by Himself, discreetly through his verses. However, He has left behind sufficient troves of literature and practical lessons from his mission implementation as compass for His followers in dealings with all situations. Despite His absence up to date, His influence has continued growing stronger by the day.
In the hope to contribute to realization of the dream by our Master through his two verses: “I aspire for the whole world to enjoy peace, For all the peoples to live in harmony.”, we have tried to mobilize all our knowledge and experience to translate part or the whole collection of the Oracles and Poems by Master Huynh, as is on harmonybuddhism.org.
Given the importance of the Mission Statement and Oracular Sixth Volume in the collection, we have it printed to distribute for some users not yet familiar with internet.
Despite all our best efforts, we never think that the translation of the Oracles will be flawless. Therefore, we believe that it will be better only if we receive feedback from our readers, while we pray for our Master to bless us with more insights into the problems which may affect our performance.
At last, we would like to acknowledge our fellow adherents, colleagues and donators, for making this project possible.
