BÀI NGUYỆN TRƯỚC BÀN THÔNG THIÊN
<p> </p><p>Cầu nguyện bàn Phật xong, ra bàn Thông Thiên cầu nguyện 4 hướng (lấy bàn Thông Thiên làm hướng chánh) trước mặt, sau lưng, hai bên vai.</p><p> </p><p>Hướng chánh bàn Thông Thiên có nguyện đọc bài <a class="glossaryLink" title="Glossary: Quy Y" href="https://harmonybuddhism.org/quy-y/" target="_blank" data-mobile-support="0" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{"attribute":"data-cmtooltip", "format":"html"}]’ tabindex=’0′ role=’link’><span itemprop="name">Quy Y</span></a><span id="cmttFootnoteLink1-0" class="cmtt-footnote"><sup><a class="et_smooth_scroll_disabled cmtt_footnote_link cmtt-footnote-deflink" href="#cmttFootnoteLink1" style="font-size: 14px; color: #ff9fbc; font-style : bold ;">[1]</a></sup></span>, còn ba hướng kia chỉ đọc bài Tây Phương ngũ nguyện, (mỗi hướng đọc rồi lạy 4 lạy). Khi cầu nguyện nếu không thể lạy được thì xá 3 xá.</p><p> </p><p>Lạy đứng hay lạy quì tùy theo lúc yếu mạnh.</p><p> </p><h5><span style="color: #ffffff;"><b>NIỆM PHẬT</b></span></h5><p>Cúng xong muốn niệm Phật cũng được. Ngồi bán già thẳng lưng niệm: Nam Mô A Di Đà Phật.</p><p>Hay niệm: Nam Mô Tây Phương Cực Lạc thế giới tam thập lục vạn ức, nhứt thập nhứt vạn, cửu thiên ngũ bá đồng danh đồng hiệu đại từ đại bi phổ độ chúng sanh A Di Đà Phật.</p><p>(Niệm Phật nhiều ít tùy theo sức mình, lúc cầu nguyện và niệm Phật chỉ niệm trong tâm).</p><p>Nam Mô A Di Đà Phật, sáu chữ đi, đứng, nằm, ngồi, rán niệm chớ quên, không đợi gì thời khắc.</p><h5><strong><span style="color: #ffffff;">KHI ĂN CƠM</span></strong></h5><p>Mỗi khi ăn cơm với mắm muối chi cũng vậy đều nguyện vái Cửu Huyền Thất Tổ, ông bà cha mẹ quá vãng về ăn với mình để tỏ lòng hiếu thảo.</p><h5><strong><span style="color: #ffffff;">ĂN CHAY</span></strong></h5><p>Đến ngày đơm quải có chi cúng nấy. Ăn chay ngày 14 – 15, 29 – 30, tháng thiếu 29 và mồng 1, có nhang thì đốt, không có thì nguyện không.</p>
PRAYER BEFORE THE THREE JEWEL ALTAR
Clasp incense, salute thrice, kneel down, hold hands against the forehead, and read the Three Refuges prayer:
Namo The Saba World Master Sakyamuni Buddha (Thrice)
- Namo the Ten Direc tion Buddha,
- Namo the Ten Direction Dharma,
- Namo The Direction Sangha.
“Namo the Patriarch and Master Buddha, Your Eminence Generalissimo, ancient mandarins, mountain Gods, and sacred residents of Five Hills and Seven Mountains, may You witness my vow: I shall repent, renounce bad and do good, take refuge in the Lords and practice Buddhism.”
After planting the incense in the urn, kowtow four times or stand straight with hands clasped against the chest and pray on:
“Namo the Western Paradise, the World of Great Compassion and Magnanimity, may you kindly bless all the sentient beings, Amitabha.”
“Namo 1st prayer: May the Heavenly, Earthly and Human Kings, Great Lotus Assembly, the Master and King Buddha, compassionately bestow peace upon the masses over the world.”
“Namo 2nd prayer: May all our Ancestors transcend to the Western Paradise.”
“Namo 3rd prayer: May our alive parents enjoy greater merits and longevity; the late ones ascend to the Pureland.”
“Namo 4th prayer: May all the masses be tolerant, generous, and no longer delusional.”
“Namo 5th Prayer: May our Patriarch and Master Buddhas mercifully bless uis, free from karmic impediments, insightful, and fully enlightened.”
Kowtow 4 times, stand up and
1 salute in the front: “Namo Amitabha “
1 salute on the left: “Namo Mahàsthàma Bodhisattva”, and
1 salute on the right: “Namo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.hisattva.
PRAYER BEFORE THE OPEN-AIR ALTAR
After praying before the Buddha Altar, go outside and pray in four directions. Take the Altar for the main or front direction, then the back, the left and right shoulders.
The front direction requires reciting the whole Prayer as inside the house, the other three directions only requires reading the Westerly Five Prayers. If you can’t prostrate, you may salute thrice.
Standing or kneeling kowtow depends on your health conditions.
RECITING AMITABHA
After the ritual, it is optional to recite Amitabha. In a half-lotus legging pose (Ardha Padmasana ) fashion, back straight up, pray: Namo Amitabha .
Or recite: “May the Western Paradise, the Thirty-Six Trillion, One Hundred and Nineteen Thousand and Five Hundred Worlds, unanimously, with great compassion and magnanimity, bless the sentient beings, Amitabha.”
(long or short recital depends on your health. Prayer is only in mind)
Namo Amitabha, the six words, is recited no matter standing, sitting, lying. Try to recite any time and never forget it.
MEALTIME
Each time you take a meal, even if too frugal, pray for Ancestors, late grandparents and parents, to return and share with you to show your filial piety.
FASTING (vegetarian)
On the anniversaries of the family, offer whatever you have.
Fast on 14th to 15th, the 29th to the 30th or the 29th to 1st if it is a short month. If you have incense, light it; otherwise, pray without.
