TU MI: Beard and eyebrows. In a broader sense, it refers to men: "Tu mi nam tu" (a man with beard and eyebrows). The Master said: "The virtuous minister is recorded in history books, The red temple is carved to honor the loyal minister with beard and eyebrows" (Sermon, Vol. 3).
The venerable Master always praises those who have great ambition, bravery and loyalty and whom he refers to as the “Tu MI”, the beard and eyebrow carrier, in the Vietnamese traditional conception of a male.
