The moral principles of humanity and the logic of human ethics, that is, the way of being human, include the “Five Relationships, Five Virtues, and Three Obediences, Four Virtues.” Living according to these principles means fulfilling the duties of being human. Mencius said: “Internally, there is the father-son relationship; externally, there is the ruler-subject relationship; these are the great principles of human conduct.”

In the Prophetic Teachings, Volume 3, the Master also taught:

“There are the Four Gratitudes,

One must repay them in this life.”

It is also written as human ethics, that is, the way of being human. People in this world must treat each other with
righteousness and humanity. There are the Five Relationships, the Five Virtues; Women have the Three Obediences and Four Virtues. (- The Five Relationships: Ruler-Subject,
Father-Son, Husband-Wife, Siblings, Friends. – The Five Constant Virtues: Benevolence, Righteousness, Propriety, Wisdom, Trust. – The Three Obediences: Obedience to husband, obedience to father, obedience to son. – The Four Virtues: Diligence, Speech, Appearance, Conduct.)
