He explained that lay practitioners of the Dharma both earn a living through farming and cultivate virtue, striving for liberation of body and mind. Therefore, his heart was always pure and serene in the face of all worldly things, wealth, beauty, and fame. Although he still possessed a mortal body like everyone else, he had diligently practiced meditation for a long time, and now his heart was enlightened, free from all delusion.
