On the path of cultivation, if the practitioner wants a certain result, he must first study Buddhism correctly.

Because thousands of means in the Buddha’s Teachings all instruct practitioners to rediscover their Buddha-nature: “One must persevere in seeking the Buddha-nature within one’s mind” (Ke Dan, Chapter 2).

To do so, the practitioner must use wisdom to destroy all desires and afflictions, that is, the Buddha-nature manifests: “The wise mind cleanses virtue, and with careful refinement, it turns brass into gold” (Sam Gian, Chapter 3).

Those who seek the Buddha through physical forms (sound, color, and shape) or in mountains and valleys are no different from “a buffalo rider looking for a buffalo.” Such a practice is very wrong and will not yield any results. Translated with https://laratranslate.com
