The Hoi in Sam Giang means the Cloud-Dragon Assembly, Long-Hoa Assembly, and Feng-Shen Assembly, a unique event frequently mentioned in the recitation sutras of Hoa Hao Buddhism, presented through various ceremonial poems, as an indispensable part of the propagation process of Master Huynh Giao Chu.
“At present, right and wrong are still mixed, but on the day when the Buddha-Immortal establishes the Long-Hoa Assembly, there will be a selection, and then the true and false, right and wrong will be very clear:”
Long-Hoa Immortal Buddha arrives in Ta-Ba,
Deceptive ones among the good will be destroyed by demons.”
(Awakening a Female Devotee).
The Master also indicated: He descended to save beings in the mortal world because He obeyed the mission of the Buddha Founder at Ling-Khuu Mountain.
“When the Assembly is established, there is no shame or hesitation,
Even with Buddhas and Immortals, it is not far.”
“Now, right and wrong are not yet distinguished.
I follow the decree of the Jade Throne,
Answer the mandate within Ling-Khuu Mountain.
When the Assembly is established, we will know who remains and who is lost.”
“The communal Assembly will thoroughly observe,
Sending generals to admonish the human world.
Many sufferings will witness wonders hard to describe,
From now on, hardships will continue till the end.”
(People’s Verse, Vol. 2).
“The good fly away while the evil still remains,”
“Good and evil still exist,
Until the time of establishing the Assembly, when souls separate.”
“Once the Long-Hoa Assembly is established,
One can see how much virtue there actually is.”
“The Long-Hoa Assembly selects those who cultivate the Way,
So that virtuous people can assist the True Lord.”
Based on the above teachings, we can understand that the Assembly is a very significant event where Buddhas, Immortals, and Saints all participate to judge who is right and who is wrong, rewarding and punishing accordingly. Those with virtue will live an elevated life, while the wicked will be punished according to the laws of heaven. As for when the Assembly will be established, it cannot / should not be revealed because “heavenly secrets must not be divulged.”
