Pure means unadulterated, without any mixture; Goodness means being kind. Generally, it means purely doing good deeds, being completely virtuous, without any evil mixed in. The Master said:
‘A pure and good nature shows a cheerful face,
That is why one deserves to be a Buddhist.’ (Khuyến Thiện, Vol.5)
