The land in the southernmost part of Vietnam. formerly “Chenla” or “Zhenla”, in Cambodian called Tukkhmau (black water). Under Frenche rule, it used to be a large district of the Bac Lieu province. In 1956, it combined with another district to become a part of the An Xuyen province. West of the Gulf of Thailand; East and south border the East Sea basin; North adjacent to Kiên Giang, Chương Thiện, Bạc Liêu. Area 4,906 square kilometers; population 256,442. the province is rich in fishery, and forestry, including charcoal, wood, honey…)
