IGNORANCE: Sanskrit: Avidya, transliterated as A-vi-di, translated into Chinese as Vô minh. ‘Vô’ means not; ‘minh’ means clear, bright. Sentient beings are confused and do not see the true nature of their own wondrous mind clearly, and mistakenly recognize illusions as reality, hence it is called ignorance (delusion).
