Term: Hong Bang

The surname of King Lac Long Quan. The first king to give birth to the Vietnamese people. The Master wrote: “The ancient Lac people were also wonderful.”

“Vietnam is of the Hong Bang lineage,

No longer violent and unruly as it is today.”

Brothers and sisters born from the same parents. This refers to the Vietnamese people being born from the lineage of Lac Long and Au Co:

“The ancient Hong Lac lineage was also wonderful.”

Or:

“The Hong Lac lineage, precious as gold and jade,

Now, many changes have occurred, leading to baseness.”
