It is often seen during vegetarian ceremonies at temples that the masters make offerings, display banners and towers of prayer papers, offer seeds, offer paper horses, and so on… All of these are then burned, with the claim that the number of horse seeds on the paper will be carried to the West to report to Buddha, while the other items are for the deceased to use. Upon examination, these matters are very strange and superstitious, so the Master has warned many times, yet there are still people who refuse to completely abandon them.
