This is the fifth volume, extracted from the first part: “Oracle Vol. V. or Prophetic Teachings” in the Complete Collection of Hoa Hao Buddhist Teachings. The Master composed this volume in the year Tân Tỵ (1941) while he was isolated by the French at Chợ Quán Hospital (Saigon) for a ‘mental health’. (The Master was released after finishing the Oracle Volume “Khuyến Thiện” (Exhortation). Upon returning to Bạc Liêu, He had his followers print it, so some people claim He wrote it in Bạc Liêu, but in reality, He wrote it at Chợ Quán Hospital. Mr. Trần Văn Tâm, the hospital administrator/head doctor, still holds the original copy, His hand writing, and a sample of His hair and confirms that He wrote it while he was there.) He wrote in verses, a modified style, with the beginning and end in the format of six-eight couplet, but the middle section is a long seven-word poem, interspersed with a few poems.
