GIÁC MÊ TÂM KỆ
Đây là quyển thứ tư mà Đức Thầy đã viết ngày 20 tháng 9 năm Kỷ Mão (1939) tại Hòa Hảo (846 câu). Thể thơ thuộc loại ‘Thất Ngôn Trường Thiên’, nghĩa là mỗi câu đều có đúng bảy chữ cho đến hết bài thơ. Gồm có tất cả 846 câu.
AWAKENING
This is the Volume IV of the Oracles which Lord Master wrote on 20 September 1939 (Earth Rabbit), at Hoa Hao (846 verses). The style is Seven Words per line, and the same applies throughout the poem that consists of 846 verses.
Quyển “Giác Mê Tâm Kệ” gồm có ba phần chánh và nhiều tiểu đoạn.
I.- Phần nhứt cũng là phần khai đề. Đức Giáo Chủ cho biết vì lòng từ bi Ngài lâm phàm tại miền Nam nước Việt, dùng trí siêu mầu giác tỉnh chúng sanh sớm nương về nẻo thiện. Phần nầy từ câu 1: “Khai ngọn đuốc từ bi chí thiện” tới câu 4: “Đặng chỉ ngỏ làm lành lánh dữ”.
II.- Phần nhì cũng là phần chánh đề. Đức Giáo Chủ vừa khuyên tu vừa khai triển các pháp tu tự lực cứu cánh (Thiền Tông). Nhứt là hành giả phải chủ yếu về nội tâm, bởi vạn vật trong thế gian, từ Địa ngục, Thiên đường hay Niết Bàn, Cực Lạc đến Phật ma, Thần Thánh đều do tâm mình tạo ra cả:
“Địa Ngục cũng tại tâm làm quấy,
Về Thiên đàng tâm ấy tạo ra…”
Vậy hành giả muốn an cư nơi cảnh giới nào hay tiến đến địa vị nào cũng đều do tâm mình tạo nên.
Phần nầy từ câu 5: “Sách Thánh đạo ghi trong Tam-Tự” tới câu 836: “Luân với chuyển dời qua đổi lại.”
III.- Phần ba cũng là đoạn kết. Đức Thầy ân cần dặn bảo những phương thức Ngài dạy trong quyển “Giác Mê Tâm Kệ” sẽ giúp cho hành giả đạt đến chỗ an cư thanh tịnh. Những gì quí báu của đất nước Việt Nam sau nầy, còn tiềm ẩn trong đỉnh núi nhà Nam (Thất Sơn), ai muốn trông thấy phải gắng công bền chí tu hành. Lời khuyên nhủ của Ngài là vì lòng từ bi, mặc tình cho người đời có khen chê
Ngài cũng không màng kể, miễn sao cho khắp bàng nhân bá tánh đều được giải thoát an vui là Ngài thỏa nguyện.
Phần ba từ câu 837:“Ra kệ nầy hai chữ bảo an”, cho đến câu 846:“Mong bá tánh vạn dân giải thoát”.
CHỦ ĐÍCH:
Chủ yếu quyển “Giác Mê Tâm Kệ”, Đức Thầy dạy môn đồ học Phật tu Phật, chuyên về các pháp tu tự lực Thiền Tông, từ tiệm tu đến đốn ngộ đều có đầy đủ, tức là từ “Diệt lục căn đừng nhiễm lục trần” đến chỗ đạt được lý “sắc không”. Từ chỗ trì hành Tứ Diệu Đề, Bát Chánh Đạo đến chỗ “Giữ tấm lòng bất động như như”, và “Vô pháp tướng mới là thiệt tướng”.

The booklet “Awakening” consists of three main parts and many sections.
I.- The first part is also the opening part. The Master said that, out of his compassion, he transmigrated in the South Vietnam, using his supernatural mind to awaken sentient beings to soon take refuge in the path of goodness. This is from verse 1: “ With a compassion and integrity torch, We fetch the good people to the Buddha porch.”
II.- The second part is also the main part. The Master advised his followers to develop Zen Buddhism’s self-help practice and cultivate virtues. Above all, the practitioner must focus on cultivating their inner strengths because everything in the world arises from our mind, such as Hell, Paradise, Sentient Beings.
“You go to Hell ‘cause of your Mind’s wrongdoing,
You go to Paradise as of your Mind’s creating.”
Thus, a practicer who wants to settle in any realm or move to any position must know that his mind would have determined this.
This section from verse 5: “Said The‘Three Words’ Sacred Book” to verse 836: “Things move like clouds shatter and gather.“
III.- The third part is also the ending. The Master said that the methods He taught in the book.
The “Enlightenment of the Mind Verse” will help the practicer to reach a place of pure dwelling. What is precious to the country Vietnam later is still hidden in the mountain of the Southern Region (That Son), anyone who wants to see it must persevere in cultivation. His teaching is out of His compassion despite anyone’s praise and criticism. He paid no heed thereto, as long as all the people of the world were liberated and happy. The third part from verse 837: “These Stanzas are for security avowal,“, to verse 846: “May all the peoples enjoy a beatitude.“.
PURPOSE:
Main idea of the “Awakening”, the Master taught His followers about the doctrine of Humanistic Buddhism, which covers the depths of Zenism and the practicality of self-engaging in the world activities, always remembering the precept: “Purify Six Sense Organs from Six Objects.”, to the extent of reaching the state of mind “Being and Non-Being”.
Cultivate the synergy of Zen Buddhism to the point of achieving the “Emptiness”. From the place of practicing the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path to the place of “Keep your mind at peace and unagitated,“, and “ Nothingness only is the true entity.“.
