LUẬN VIỆC TU HÀNH

Tu hành dương-thế cậy đồng tiền,

Phật-Giáo vì tiền phải ngửa-nghiêng.

Bát-Nhã chẳng đưa người tội ác,

Thuyền-Từ nào rước lại Tây-Thiên.

Trần-gian đầy-dẫy người làm dối,

Đạo cả nào trông đến cảnh thiền.

Đoái thấy người đời lòng bắt chán,

Dương-trần lầm lạc đáng ưu-phiền.

Muốn đặng về Thần với Thánh-Tiên,

Kỹ xem cõi thế thấy kia liền.

Cư trần bất nhiễm là người Thánh,

Lẫn tục đừng mê chứng bực Hiền.

Phú quí tạo đời thêm mệt xác,

Tham danh phế đạo chí đâu yên.

Sao bằng cửa Phật vui thanh-tịnh,

Lánh cõi trần mê giải nghiệp duyên.

Tiếc vì không đức, tiếc chi tiền,

Phật Thánh xưa kia sách vẫn biên.

Bác-ái xả thân tầm đạo chánh,

Độ người lao khổ dạ không phiền.

Mình vàng Thái-Tử ngôi còn bỏ,

Vóc ngọc Đông-cung tước phế liền.

Xem đó hỡi người mau lập chí,

Tu hành khá nhớ giữ cho nguyên.

Muốn đặng thành Thần với Phật Tiên,

Rán tu ân đức chớ tu tiền.

Lợi danh chớp nháng như luồng gió,

Thấy đó rồi đâu bỗng mất liền.

Sớm thức tỉnh tâm tầm đạo chánh,

Sau nầy về Phật với ngôi Tiên.

Lập thân giúp thế nên công-quả,

Muôn kiếp danh hiền sách vẫn biên.

ON PRACTICE

The worldly vest their practices with money,

'Cause of monetarism, Buddhism must decay.

Prajna never picks up the ruffians,

No Kind boat takes them to the Western Heaven.

The world is full of those fraudulent,

The Tao never expects they get enlightened.

At a glance, the worldly are disheartening,

Too worrisome are disoriented sentient beings.

To be able to become a deity or fairy,

Probe society and you will immediately see.

Living herein unsullied, you're a Saint,

You are a virtuous, mingling with laity, untainted.

The materialist only incur more drudgery,

If you drop morals for fame, you will not feel easy.

Nothing compares to the calm porch of Buddha,

Avoid worldliness and you solve your karma.

Only regret that you lack virtues, not monies,

Buddhas and Saints used to well get in registries.

Selflessly and mercifully seek the true Tao,

Happily helping those in dire poverty,

The Crown Prince sheds his throne and body,

Let alone he drops his Eastern Palace's position.

See that and quickly set your aspiration,

Practicers should remember their honesty.

In order to become Buddha or deity,

Cultivate virtues and merits, not monies.

Fame and fortune flicker like a breeze,

No sooner have you seen it than it faded out.

Early wake up and seek the Tao,

So you will later join the Holy Spirits.

Achieve your growth by accruing merits,

This repute will forever be inscribed.
